Forest High School. Kirk Pengilly and Tim Farris meet here in 1971 during science class. Tim had drawn a picture of a guitar on his pencil case, and Kirk noticed it. This started a conversation, and they found out they both were interested in music.

 Beverly Hills High School. Michael's parents divorce, and his mother moves them to Los Angeles in 1975. They stay one year, and move back to Australia, just a few houses away from the Farris's. Michael and Andrew Farris become friends. They start a band with Neil Sardon (drums), Kent Kearney (guitar), Michael (vocals), and Andrew (keyboard).

The Newport Arms Hotel. Tim meets Garry here while putting flyers on car windows. They started talking about music.

301 Studios. They moved in here to finish their album. Michael would pop in, just in time, to finish his parts. He frequently arrived high on a various assortment of drugs.

Kempsey Return to Services League. They came to this town to relax after recording. They played a gig here, opening for some other bands. They came out later with some other bands as well. That's when the fun started. The band BA'd the crowd. Kirk came out wearing a jacket, and nothing else. Michael persuaded some girls to come on stage and flash their breasts and vaginas.

The Manor Studios. Met with Nick Launay, producer and manager. This manor is owned by Richard Branson. It has a lake, studio, and a go-kart track.

The Hollywood Bowl. They meet producer Chris Thomas after a show here. He ended up producing their three biggest selling albums. (Listen Like Thieves, Kick, and X).

Sydney Opera House. They start rehearsing the songs for "Kick" here in 1986. They also rehearse the songs from "Welcome to Where You Are" here.

Jose Amalfitani Stadium. Many people were murdered in this stadium during the 7 year junta of the 1970's- and 1980's. The crowd got so out of control when they were playing that the police started beating people in the audience, and stopped the concert.

The Sports Palace. INXS were the first band to play there in 16 years. The last band to play there, Chicago, had a terrible show. Four people died during their show in 1975. Garry's bass tech was kidnapped by the Mexico City Police. He was buying marijuana. The band paid $400 to get him back. This occurred in 1991.

Wembley Stadium. They played here. You know you have made it when you play this place, and sell it out on July 13th, 1991. Bill Wyman, former Rolling Stone, parties with the band. During the party, a woman fell into the wall, making a hole. She ended up getting stuck in the wall. Other bands in the festival were Deborah Harry, Hot House Flowers, Roachford, Jesus Jones, and Jellyfish. INXS spent $250,000 of their own money to film there show, considered to be one of their best shows ever.

Texas Stadium. They headline a show called "Calling All Nations" supported by The Smithereens, Ziggy Marley, Iggy Pop, and Guns n Roses. Kirk thought Guns n Roses sounded terrible. They show was in 1988.

Melbourne Arts Centre. They play a show in 1985 for Prince Charles and Princess Diana. After the show, Charles tells Michael he should be "right shagged after that". Diana seemed to have an attraction to Kirk.

Hordern Pavilion. Garry would go here to see Black Sabbath, Queen, Rainbow, The Eagles, Supertramp, and AC/DC.

Centennial Park. They headline a benefit show, which they spend their own money to put on. $200,000. A lot of problems occurred during the show. The press publishes a lot of negative articles, calling them pretentious, and ingrates. They are erroneously thought to have made money off the show. Their manager, Chris Murphy, tells them not to tour Australia for a long time.

On Friday the 21st of November, 1997, Michael had his last dinner with his father, at the Flavour of India Restaurant.

Later that evening, Michael was out with his ex girlfriend Kym Wilson, and her boyfriend Christopher Stollery. They hung out in the bar of the Ritz Hotel where he was staying. Around 11:30, they went upstairs to room 524 and continued the party. They drank a lot, and the couple left around 4am. During that night, Michael supposedly called Geldof, and hurled abuse down the phone line. "Your f**king children hate you, man. I'm their father, little man. When are you going to realize that?"

Around 9am, Hutchence phoned another ex, Michelle Bennett, to have breakfast. She wasn't there, so he left her a message. A while later, Michelle picked up the message and went to the Ritz, but there was no answer at Michael's door. She slipped a note under the door and left.

Around noon on Saturday, the maid came to clean the room - when she got no reply - she entered. Surprise. The place was supposedly littered with bottles of prescription drugs and booze. I don't know if that's true. What is true is that Michael was found just inside the door, hanging from the spring lever. He was naked, and hanging by his leather belt. No suicide note. No suspicious circumstances. 4 hours later, Michael's body was taken by hearse , to the Coroner.

The funeral was held St. Andrews Cathedral , in Sydney . Paula was there, along with Tiger Lily. Other attendees were (supposedly) Diana Ross , Tom Jones, Helena Christiansen, Jason Donovan and Kylie Minogue (Hutchence's ex).

Room 524 of the Ritz-Carlton, Double Bay, Sydney. The hotel is now known as the Stamford Plaza Hotel.
