Stanhope Gardens in Highgate. Mike Leonard, as part time lecturer at the Regent Street Polytechnic had a house here. Roger Waters and Nick Mason rented space here in 1963. Later on, Syd Barreta nd Rick Wright rented space also. Mike Leonard made light machines, which were an influence on the Pink Floyd light shows. Essex University. In March of 1966, they gig here under the name "The Tea Set" for an event called "The Rag Ball". They had another name for the band, "The Pink Floyd Sound". All Saints Hall. This hall is part of the All Saints Church in Powis Gardens. Pink Floyd played here in late 1966. This hall became an important venue for the counter culture revolution at the time. The Cheetah Club. In November of 1967, they play a gig here. Opening for them are Lothar and the Hand People. Basically, they were a guy and some hot women dancing like strippers. PF had to borrow gear for the show. Roger cut his hand on the bass he had borrowed. At the end of the show, he smashed the bass. Syd was acting wierd, and had slicked his hair straight back. The Fillmore East. In 1970, legendary music promoter Bill Graham (owner of the Fillmore) rented to Fillmore to Pink Floyd for $3,000. He didn't think they could fill the place. This was the band's highest grossing show to date (1970). They met lighting designer Arthur Max here. They also had Robbie Robertson and Levon Helms of The Band thrown out of their dressing room. Chateau d'Herouville. They were here to record the soundtrack to Barbet Schroeder's movie "Le Vallee. There were some artistic and legal issues with the soundtrack. The band released the recordings as "Obscured by Clouds". Schroeder retitled the movie to "LeVallee: Obscured by Clouds".
